Foreign Minister and Vice Chancellor Steinmeier Visits InterMed Discovery at the BioMedizinZentrum in Dortmund

Dortmund, 5 August 2009 - During a recent tour of Germany’s most promising and innovative companies, Frank-Walter Steinmeier, Federal Minister of Foreign Affairs and Vice Chancellor of Germany, took the opportunity to meet with InterMed Discovery (IMD) at the TechnologieZentrum in Dortmund.

After being introduced to both the TechnologieZentrum and the BioMedizinZentrum Dortmund therein, Steinmeier received a brief presentation of the work that IMD conducts as well as a visit to the laboratories. Steinmeier was accompanied on his tour of the IMD facilities by Dr. Thomas Henkel, one of IMD’s two managing directors, who explained the status of IMD’s local research activities. The visit provided Vice Chancellor Steinmeier with an inside look at InterMed Discovery, a prime example of an innovative and promising company rapidly progressing in Dortmund, Germany.
