Intellectual Property Manager

Dr. Ernst Roemer studied chemistry in Braunschweig and obtained his PhD in 1992. Prior to InterMed Discovery he joined the Hans-Knöll-Institute (Jena) and the Institute of Plant Biochemistry (Halle). He is an expert in Natural Products research with more than 15 years experience. He joint InterMed Discovery in 2006 as Intellectual Property Manager being responsible for all IP related activities.

His responsibilities include all processes in order to protect the intellectual property at IMD. Amongst others this comprises the literature research to secure freedom to operate in all interesting application fields, the identification of the chemical matter to get a broad protection and monitoring of the competitor situation and possible infringements. Together with our external patent attorneys he develops the patent strategy for the entire life cycle.
