Dr. Philipp Wabnitz

Head Pharmacology

Dr. Philipp Wabnitz studied biology in Göttingen and Hannover. Dr. Wabnitz has more than eight years of experience in disease biology and drug discovery. As a Ph.D. student he examined molecular mechanisms of cancer etiology at the Fraunhofer Institute for Toxicology and Experimental Medicine, Hannover, establishing in vitro and in vivo models of lung cancer. Thereafter, he joined Ingenium Pharmaceuticals AG in Martinsried/Munich, a biopharmaceutical company. There he extended his pharmacological expertise by dealing with complex biological mechanisms that underlie human diseases such as obesity, diabesity, inflammation and pain. At Ingenium, Dr. Wabnitz took the responsibility for a drug discovery project at the stage of lead optimization / identification of pre-clinical candidates. He joined InterMed Discovery (IMD) after overseeing toxicology of the early stage (non-clinical) drug development pipeline at Schwarz Pharma.
