IMD’s uniqueness
IMD possesses and pursues a proprietary portfolio of pharmaceutical projects at an advanced pre-clinical stage. (See graphic above.) Our exploratory projects are based on particular compounds that have shown interesting in vitro and even in vivo potential. These projects are usually based on natural compounds that have either never been published or whose strong and selective biological activities were hitherto unknown. In some cases, preliminary SAR has already been established from micro-derivatization programs or by biological evaluation of congeneric metabolites that were isolated from the original biological source apart from the major compounds or even from series of synthetic analogues.
In addition our proprietary specialist system NPsilico, which comprises literature and proprietary information about bioactive Natural Products, allows us to identify potent LEAD structures without laborious de novo wet lab identification through systematic, focused, and structure-driven research. Intellectual Property (IP) can be generated through subsequent optimization programs. Examples include some types of antibiotics or anticancer agents. We can provide such projects on demand to be followed by supplemental micro-derivatization programs and extensive pharmacological studies on request.
